Apple iPhone will be manufactured in India by Foxconn in 2019


  Earlier in the week, rumors suggested Apple and Foxconn are moving a part of the production of 2019 iPhones from China to India. Today, Reuters confirmed the Taiwanese provider and contractor can use its plant in Sriperumbudur, a city in the southern state of TamilNadu.

  The state’s Industries Minister M C Sampath same the plant is already used for making Xiaomi phones, however, Foxconn can invest $356 million in expanding the product line to fulfill the orders by Apple. Such an investment could produce as several as 25,000 jobs in the region, he added.



  According to one source that spoke with Reuters, Foxconn are collecting the most expensive models the iPhone X family. Another insider revealed Apple is proactively pushing for the move to limit any ultimate impact from the trade war that's currently occurring between the united states and China.

  Up until now, Apple’s partner Wistron corporation has been collecting the iPhone SE and iPhone 6S in Bengaluru. The Cupertino company has a marginal market share within the country, wherever users ar targeted on lower-end devices. more than 1/2 the sales are models older than the iPhone 8, launched in September 2017.
